HJF is seeking a Research Assistant II to support the Department of Pathology located at The Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the Department of Pathology.
The incumbent performs research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. Provides laboratory and technical support to senior technical and professional staff. Solves problems of standard complexity in carrying out research projects in a laboratory environment. Our lab uses molecular biology, proteomics, cell biology and animal models to decipher novel therapeutics including immunotherapy in the context of metastatic breast cancer.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques; ability to follow general instructions; good communication and analytical skills, Document experiments, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, precision, ability to work weekends, take public transport. Exposure to lab techniques such as qRT PCR, western blotting, molecular biology techniques and cell culture techniques. Animal model experience.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
Work Environment: Set in a laboratory environment.
Background/Security: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust and a Common Access Card (CAC).
