HJF is seeking a Research Assistant I to support Military Emergency Medicine (MEM) and Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) located at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUSHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to MEM/CHAMP.
The incumbent will perform cellular and animal research under scientific supervision, provide laboratory and technical support to senior technical and professional staff. Additionally, they will manage the day-to-day operations of the lab, including ensuring inventory is up to date, preparation of reagents, cleaning, and organization. As well as handling minor problems while carrying out research projects in a laboratory environment and can offer support when dealing with larger issues.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques; ability to follow detailed instructions; good communication and analytical skills.
Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Animal Science, etc.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 0-2 years of relevant work experience required.
Background/Security: Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); eligibility to obtain and hold a Public Trust background.
