HJF is seeking an Intern to support the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine (CNRM) located at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine (CNRM).

The Incumbent will be responsible for a variety of laboratory tasks related to understanding the effect of traumatic brain injury to the stress axis. Provides technical work involving a variety of laboratory support duties. These may include data acquisition, data analysis and assist in the interpretation of data. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in assembling equipment and in preparing materials for experiments. Prepares reagents, solutions, and culture media.
  2. Maintains and provides custodial care for laboratory specimens, slides, models, equipment, supplies, and glassware.
  3. Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies.
  4. Assists in conducting semi-routine experiments and analyses.
  5. Assist in data analysis.
  6. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and supplies: ability to follow detailed instructions; ability to handle multiple tasks. Understanding of the neuroendocrine stress axis.

Minimum Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position. 

Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 0-2 Years of prior experience is preferred.
