HJF is seeking Senior Research Assistant to support PIs at the Val G. Hemming Simulation Center (Simcenter) at the USUHS, Forest Glen Annex, Silver Spring, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the Simulation Center.
Responsible for simulation research and development in collaboration with PIs and others for projects. Provides laboratory and technical support to senior technical and professional staff at VGH Simcenter. Reports directly to the PIs and medical director of the VGH Simcenter. The position is located at the Womack Army Medical Center, FT Bragg, NC.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of complex simulation techniques; ability to work independently; good communication and analytical skills with all; experience in research methodology required.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
Minimum Experience: 6 or more years’ experience in simulation research.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing and sitting; handling various supplies and materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls: may supervise and provide guidance for other research support staff and medical students assisting with the study.
Work Environment: Healthcare simulation research and operations facility.
Background/Security: Ability to obtain a CAC and a Public Trust.
