HJF is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Center for Global Health Engagement (CGHE) located in Rockville, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CGHE. This position requires US Citizenship. 

The Program Coordinator directly supports a wide variety of ongoing programs and projects for the Center for Global Health Engagement (CGHE). Established by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), the CGHE provides operational support to the Department of Defense (DoD) GHE enterprise to meet national security objectives.

The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting CGHE’s Programs and Joint Force Support Division Director and Senior Program Manager in meeting their overarching goals and objectives by providing project management and tracking, database management, stakeholder coordination and meeting logistics/administrative support. The Program Coordinator must be detail-oriented and responsive, with strong written and verbal communication, project management, administrative, and organizational skills, and be able to multi-task while maintaining a realistic balance among multiple priorities.


  1. Provides day-to-day support to Programs and Joint Force Support Division Director and Senior Program Manager as needed.
  2. Serves as the lead project manager for programs and projects as assigned.
  3. Develops and monitors project and engagement timelines; documents progress; and conducts required follow-up.
  4. Coordinates and attends meetings, conferences, and teleconferences with both internal and external stakeholders to include producing agendas, scheduling, and providing necessary advance materials.
  5. Compiles input for post-engagement reports and other related summary documents and ensures final deliverables are disseminated to the funding sponsor(s) and/or other relevant participants.
  6. Monitors and responds to project inquiries and prepares correspondence.
  7. Spearheads document management to include organizing and maintaining the repository, archiving documents, and ensuring standardized naming conventions.
  8. Contributes toward CGHE annual reports and other reporting requirements.
  9. Drafts articles, press releases, program fact sheets, briefing materials, and social media content.
  10. Develops and maintains key stakeholder relationships.
  11. Develops program-related Memorandums of Understanding and Memorandums of Agreement; and follows up with Center Operations Division’s Administrative Coordinator as needed.
  12. Contributes to a detailed GHE stakeholder database, including points of contact across the DoD agencies, other government agencies, inter- and non-governmental organizations.
  13. Completes other projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of U.S. government (preferably DoD) requirements with respect to grant-related work.
  • Project management experience.
  • Familiarity with global health issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written).
  • Skill and ability to develop and maintain personal and professional relationships.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work under pressure, at times, and to handle a wide variety of activities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Google applications (e.g., mail, calendar, drive).
  • Fluent in English.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required. 

Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 0 – 2 years of experience.

Physical Capabilities: May require the ability to lift and carry moderate weight objects. Must have the ability to obtain medical clearance for international travel.

Work Environment: Office setting; domestic and overseas travel may be assigned as required.

Background: US Citizenship required; eligibility to obtain and hold Department of Defense issued Secret Clearance.
