The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is looking for a ESP Biostatistician to support the Strategic Initiatives Business Development Department located at HJF Corporate Headquarters in Bethesda, MD. Reporting to the Director of Investigator Initiated Proposals in the Strategic Initiatives Business Development Department (SIBD), the incumbent will be responsible for providing customized statistical analysis planning and study design support to HJF customers, research staff and internal departments. This will include the full range of project support from experimental design and grant proposal development to data analysis and effective communication of data modeling results. 


  1. Work closely with clinicians and basic researchers to provide assistance in the planning and design of research experimental design and statistical analysis planning.
  2. Assist with writing statistical sections of proposals, reports, publications and/or IRB protocols.
  3. Implement current and emerging statistical modeling algorithms for analyzing data.
  4. Actively collaborate with HJF customers, research staff, business development and research administration teams to meet deadlines.
  5. Communicate computational biology principles and concepts to customers and staff.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research.
  • Expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology.
  • Experience writing statistical plans for grant proposals.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Must possess a PhD with 2-4 years' of related experience.

Physical Capabilities: Requires sitting for long periods of time at a computer and/or desk.

Work Environment: Office environment.
