HJF is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse to support the Pilot Assessment of Using Remotely-Supervised Medics and Corpsmen to Enhance Access to Primary and Urgent Care in the National Capitol Region within the Family Medicine Department located at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the Family Medicine Department.
Responsibilities are to perform a variety of duties to support the development of an electronic decision support tool for the pilot program, to consent participants during the pilot at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and to provide clinical input and recommendations regarding the pilot program.
Responsibilities:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing clinical and research tasks; ability to learn and become proficient in algorithm development and clinical responsibilities related to research protocols; excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Graduate from an accredited nursing program, Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Minimum Experience: 2 to 4 years nursing experience.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of sitting, standing, escorting patients, carrying light items; frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment; may encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Ability to pass Fort Belvoir Community Hospital medical credentialing process.
Work Environment: Office and clinical patient care area; possible evening and/or weekend hours. Exposed to patients’ conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious diseases.
Background: US Citizenship required; eligibility to obtain and hold Department of Defense issued Secret Clearance.
