HJF is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BIO) located at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services the BIO Department.
Responsible for research and/or development in collaboration with others. Provides laboratory and technical support to senior technical and professional staff. Meets regularly with thesis advisor to discuss research and related assignments, which may include attending meetings, conducting literature searches, designing experiments and conducting independent research, generating and analyzing data, operating laboratory equipment, drafting, editing and reviewing manuscripts and other reports, and providing teaching assistance.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques; ability to follow general instructions; good communication and analytical skills
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: Must be enrolled in a graduate program.
Background/Security: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust and a Common Access Card (CAC).
