HJF is seeking an IT Specialist (Help Desk) to support the Navy and Marine Corp Public Health Center (NMCPHC) at the in Portsmouth, VA.  HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to NMCPHC.

This position will support the Epi Data Center (EDC) as an IT Specialist serving in a help desk type capacity. This role will require alternative work schedules which may include weekend and evenings. Relocation assistance, sign-on, and other incentive bonuses may be available to qualified and selected candidates; subject to approval.


  1. Supports configuration management planning.
  2. Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits.
  3. Supports configuration planning.
  4. Identifies and maintains the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.
  5. Responsible for configuration change control.
  6. Supports the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software. 
  7. Responsible for configuration status accounting.
  8. Tracks all problems and changes in product documents and software and reports changes and current configuration.
  9. Responsible for configuration audits.
  10. Supports audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met.
  11. Provide data reports as needed.
  12. Assists researchers as needed.
  13. Completes other projects as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must possess excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Will need to exercise good judgment, diplomacy, and discretion; when dealing with sensitive information and issues.  Support services experience needed.

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in related field.

Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 6-8 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment: Office and laboratory environment.

Background/Security: US Citizenship required: Eligibility to obtain and hold Department of Defense issued Secret Clearance.
