HJF is seeking a part-time Digital Communications Assistant to support the Communications Department, located at the HJF Home Office in Bethesda, MD. This is a temporary position that will last approximately 3-4 months. 

The selected individual will work 16 - 24 hours a week on a variety of projects in the Communications Department. We are looking for a hard worker with a desire to learn and constantly improve. This is an excellent educational opportunity for entry level job seekers looking to jump start a career in digital communications.

  1. Write, edit and review copy for digital communication vehicles.
  2. Work with HJF staff to monitor analytics of digital assets and provide feedback and suggestions to improve reach. 
  3. Research and report on current trends in digital communications.
  4. Assist in production efforts to create digital visual assets including photography and video.
  5. Organize data in shared file server.
  6. Obtain and create digital content for sharing on digital communication vehicles.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of digital media such as social media and website content. 
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of scientific programs and departments.
  • Dedicated work ethic and a drive to always improve. 

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: High school diploma; Coursework towards degree preferred.

Minimum Expereince: 0 - 1 years.
