HJF is seeking a Receptionist to support the Support Services Department at the HJF Home Office in Bethesda, Maryland. Responsible for greeting and providing information to large number of visitors. Responsible for receiving and accurately forwarding a large volume of incoming phone calls. Also responsible for providing administrative support on an overflow basis.


  1. Responsible for receiving, relaying, taking messages and handling all incoming phone calls.
  2. Greets HJF-HQ visitors and informs staff members of the arrival of expected visitors and advises the appropriate staff member regarding unexpected visitors. Maintains visitor access logs.
  3. Maintains conference room schedule for the conference center and AV Team. Coordinates catering.
  4. Responsible for setting and tracking access badge privileges.
  5. Issuing parking validations and reviewing parking structure access and usage logs.
  6. Generate Support Service and IT help desk tickets for both external and internal clients of Headquarters.
  7. Communicate service requests to Support Service team or building management as appropriate.
  8. Assists with emergency response coordination and emergency evacuation process.
  9. Performs routine bookkeeping, filing and clerical duties and may do some light typing (special projects).  
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Use of telephone equipment and knowledge of standard office machines and equipment.  Excellent verbal communication skills.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: High school graduate.

Minimum Experience: One year experience as a receptionist.

Physical Capabilities: Ability to sit long periods of time at a desk.

Work Environment: Office environment.
