HJF is seeking a Research Assistant III to support the Austere Environments Consortium for Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes (ACESO) program. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to ACESO. ACESO is implementing clinical research programs internationally and requires a candidate who will be based at the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC) Biological Defense Research Directorate (BDRD) in Frederick, Maryland. US Citizenship is required for this position.
The incumbent will conduct immune-assays and/or molecular and serological analyses to characterize the host response to human infection. Prior experience with ELISA and PCR is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Desired Experience: Favorable consideration will be given to those candidates with demonstrated phlebotomy experience. Experience with Magpix and/or Luminex as well as real time PCR is strongly preferred.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a biological science.
Minimum Experience: 4 – 6 years of laboratory experience.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing and sitting; must be capable of working solo and as a laboratory team member; must be able to handle various chemicals and potential biohazards; must be available nights or weekends as needed for completion of laboratory experiments as necessary.
Working Environment: Laboratory and desk environment.
Background Requirement: This position requires eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance and a CAC (Common Access Card) clearance. US Citizenship required.
