HJF is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support the Department of Family Medicine within the School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities include providing routine quality nursing services for an outpatient primary care clinic that provides full scope care for all ages.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing clinical tasks; ability to learn and become proficient in new medical treatments and devices.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Associate’s degree or completion of Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
Minimum Experience: 2-4 years nursing experience; outpatient primary care preferred.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of sitting, standing, escorting patients, carrying light items; frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment; may encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: Licensed Practical Nurse, certified in basic cardiac life support (BCLS) and other required HJF and Facility Training
Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls: N/A
Work Environment: Office, hospital and/or clinical patient care area. Exposed to patients’ conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious diseases.
Background: Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); eligibility to obtain and hold a Public Trust background.
