HJF is seeking a Graduate Student to support the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine (CNRM) located at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services CNRM.
The incumbent will assist in carrying out one or more research projects assigned by their academic mentor. Responsible for research and/or development in collaboration with others in support of the CNRM. Provides laboratory, clinical and/or technical support to senior technical and professional staff. Meets regularly with thesis advisor to discuss work schedule and research and related assignments, which may include attending meetings, conducting literature searches, designing experiments and conducting independent research, generating and analyzing data, operating laboratory equipment, drafting, editing and reviewing manuscripts and other written documents, and providing teaching assistance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of standard experimental research techniques; ability to follow instructions, take initiative to solve problems; excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, enrolled in graduate program.
Minimum Experience: 2 to 4 years of research experience.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing and sitting; handling various chemicals.
Work Environment: Laboratory or clinical environment.
