HJF is seeking a Research Associate to support the laboratory of Dr. Lawrence Latour, in the Acute Cerebrovascular Diagnostics Unit of the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD, in collaboration with the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine (CNRM), to study the relationship between acute neuroimaging findings after traumatic brain injury (TBI) and clinical outcomes. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CNRM.
This project involves techniques including neuroimaging, data analysis, and bioinformatics to analyze clinical research data from the Traumatic Head Injury Neuroimaging Classification (THINC) project. Preference will be given to applicants (M.D. and/or Ph.D.) with experience in neuroimaging or neuroscience, conduct and analysis of clinical research data, and an interest in traumatic brain injury research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of appropriate scientific area; ability to analyze and interpret data.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Master's degree in a related scientific discipline.
Minimum Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing and sitting; intricate work with hands; carrying of light and moderately heavy laboratory equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls: May provide guidance to laboratory staff.
Work Environment: Office and laboratory environment; may involve working with biohazardous materials; may require working evenings and weekends.
