HJF is seeking Network Analyst to support the Information Technology Department located at HJF Home Office in Bethesda, Maryland. 

The Network Analyst, as part of the IT Operations team, designs, maintains and monitors networks and network related services supporting HJF research and administrative activities under the direction of the Network Engineer Manager who establishes and provides general guidelines and overall priorities. The Network Analyst works independently; establishes internal priorities, work schedules and goals and uses her own initiative and sound judgment. Work is evaluated based on results achieved towards established goals and requirements, timeliness, application of sound business practice and efficient use of resources.


  1. Install, configure support and maintain wired and wireless network hardware, software and related services including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points and associated controllers, network access control and other network management, performance and security devices, appliances and software.
  2. Work in conjunction with systems, applications and database administrators to provide the best performance and availability for HJF systems and networks.
  3. Work in conjunction with information security staff to continually improve the security posture of HJF's systems and networks.
  4. Properly document Foundation network infrastructure and systems and manage change in an orderly fashion.
  5. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience and expertise as a network support SME, configuring and managing networks of moderate complexity and scale providing local (wired and wireless) and wide area connectivity including VPN, VLAN, QoS, and VoIP services over switched and routed networks.
  • Skills in Ethernet switched and routed networks and related performance tuning, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with a wide variety of personnel of varied technical knowledge.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required. 

Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 2-4 years of relevant experience. Network + certification recommended.
