HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support the Infectious Disease Clinic Research Program (IDCRP) located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to IDCRP. This position will support the Pragmatic Assessment of Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness in the DoD (PAIVED) study. The hours for this position will be 7am - 3:30pm or 7:30am - 4pm.
The incumbent must perform a variety of duties to provide a full scope of quality nursing services in a clinical care facility for patients and to maintain a therapeutic environment through identifying, correcting, and reporting health and safety hazards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing clinical and research tasks; ability to learn and become proficient in data acquisition and clinical responsibilities related to research protocols; excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor's degre; MPH preferred. RN in the state of Maryland preferred but not required.
Minimum Experience: 4 to 6 years experience within clinical research. Previous experience leading studies to include oversight/supervising of clinical research staff.
Physical Capabilities: Long periods of sitting, standing, escorting patients, carrying light items; frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment; may encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland preferred.
Work Environment: Office and clinical patient care area; possible evening and/or weekend hours. Exposed to patients’ conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious diseases.
Background: US Citizenship required; eligibility to obtain and hold Department of Defense issued Secret Clearance.
