HJF is seeking a Program Management Intern to support the Program Management Office located at the HJF Home Office in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to numerous research programs that advance Military Medicine.

HJF is offering a 10-week, competitive program management internship during the summer of 2019. This internship will expose the Intern to standard program management procedures, including proposal development, protocol development, personnel hiring, and general overview of project execution.  Interns will also gain experience in communicating with research and technical experts in science, seeking out new research projects, and will follow the Program Managers as liaison between ongoing/planned projects and HJF management. Outstanding interns will be considered for a full-time, entry level job in the field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists HJF Program Managers in preparing documents and materials to support research. 
  2. Assists HJF Program Managers in interacting with the researchers, grants specialists, business developers.
  3. Serve as a liaison between the field and headquarters Program Managers.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven problem-solving skills and an interest in management of scientific projects and programs.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Junior/Senior pursuing a Bachelor degree, 3.5 GPA (out of 4.0 scale)

Minimum Experience: 0-2 years’ experience

Work Environment: Office
