 HJF is seeking a Research Assistant to support the Medical and Clinical Psychology (MPS) Department located at the Uniformed Services University of  the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to MPS. 

The incumbent will be responsible for research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. Provides support to senior technical and professional staff.


  1. Performs research projects, including collection and organization of data. Provides basic data analysis and interpretation.
  2. Assists with the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
  3. Assists in obtaining consent and assent as well as oversee self-report questionnaires.
  4. Performs data entry for research projects and maintains databases.
  5. Perform recruitment efforts, telephone screens, and mailings.
  6. Lead participant assessment and follow-up visits.
  7. Maintains clean office area and has positive attitude.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good clinical rapport; ability to follow general instructions; good communication and analytical skills

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline

Minimum Experience: 0 to 2 years of laboratory experience

Physical Capabilities: Long periods of standing and sitting

Work Environment: Clinical Research environment

Background: Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); eligibility to obtain and hold a Public Trust background.
