HJF is seeking a Senior Research Associate to support the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) in the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine, Uniformed Services University, in Bethesda, MD. The position may be designated as a telework position if filled by an exceptionally well-qualified candidate. Plans, conducts, and completes investigations under the supervision of the CHAMP Director or PI of specific projects. Provides scientific, technical and support services to a variety of programs that are executed through the CHAMP. Responsible for research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff, across a broad range of disciplines. Exercises technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments and/or projects. Demonstrated experience with the essential duties listed below is a strong plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of project design, execution and analysis across a wide range of research types, but especially bio/psycho/social research; excellence in methodologies to conduct systematic reviews; ability to meet deadlines of projects; must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills with a record of publishing and presenting results.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Master’s degree in scientific discipline is preferred but a Bachelor’s degree combined with related experience above the minimum requirement is acceptable.
Minimum Experience: At least 10 years of directly related research and/or project management experience at a senior level.
Physical Capabilities: Work is primarily sedentary but ability to travel and adequate fitness and mobility to work in a field environment is required. Requires some lifting of light objects.
Work Environment: Primarily an office environment but may include laboratory and field settings, which may be somewhat austere.
