The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is looking for a Research Engineer II to support research and program objectives at the Naval Medical Research Unit ‐ San Antonio (NAMRU‐SA). HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to NAMRU-SA at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide support of research with the purpose to engage in professional fluidics engineering functions involving medical research practices to support the laboratory’s efforts.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of biomedical engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Coordinate all design phases with contractor personnel (lab/project managers, other engineers, and technical support personnel).
  • Direct the integration, fabrication, and functional testing of systems after installation to insure that performance meets specifications and client requirements.
  • Resolve novel systems and design engineering problems which require the development of new techniques or the innovative application of new state-of-the-art technology.
  • Develop models of fluid flow in air and liquid systems

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minimum of 2 to 4 years directly related research experience
