The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is looking for a Research Technician II to support research and program objectives at the Naval Medical Research Unit ‐ San Antonio (NAMRU‐SA). HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to NAMRU-SA at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for supporting laboratory based research applying the latest scientific knowledge towards the solution of a broad range of theoretical and practical problems in the areas of infectious disease, maxillofacial wound treatment, nanomaterials, and the study of multi-drug resistant microorganisms and biofilms.
  • Modify and plan research experiments, procedures, and tests.
  • Coordinate the implementation of sponsored and PI initiated laboratory research studies, including maintenance of study records and activities associated with internal and external audits in coordination with the PI.
  • Assist in research design.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience of related research experience
