HJF is seeking a Military Personnel Administrative Assistant to support the Office of the Brigade Commander located at the Uniformed Services University of the HHealth Sciences (USU), in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to USU.
The mission of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) is to provide the highest quality education programs in the health sciences to those selected individuals who demonstrate dedication to a career in the health professions in the Uniformed Services. USU is authorized to grant appropriate advanced academic degrees and has established postdoctoral, postgraduate, and technological institutes. Programs in continuing education for military members of the health professions have been established so that the highest standards of health care may be maintained within the military medical departments. USU must be responsible to the overall educational needs of the Military Departments relating specifically to the preparation of individuals for careers in the health professions. USU is developing programs designed to recruit and retain superior health science professionals as faculty and researchers, and to ensure maximum utilization of the health science labor force, facilities, and equipment available within military medical departments worldwide.
The position is located in the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Office of the Brigade Commander, Military Personnel Office (MPO). USU recruits only the highest caliber of officer and enlisted personnel to provide administrative support. The Brigade Commander is responsible for management of resources, personnel, and programs of manning, personnel, training, and administration for USU and all departments therein. The mission of Military Personnel Office is to provide liaison services with Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) Bethesda, Walter Reed Army Medical Center Military Personnel Division and the Andrews Air Force Base Military Personnel Flight. Primary functions include preparing, processing, and coordinating all correspondence and documents related to leave, receipt and transfer, discharge, military pay, officer special and continuation pay (save pay), request for order (RFO), military personnel issues and requests, and appointment letters.
The Military Personnel Administrative Assistant is responsible for the review, submission, and tracking of all Tri-Service finance actions in conjunction with and/or in the absence of an active duty Service stall representative. Additional responsibilities include initiating, calculating, and processing all DA 1506 Forms for USU personnel through Military Personnel Division. Finance
Section: serving as an alternate point of contact on all Brigade finance' actions; assisting with the award. evaluations and Academic Evaluation Report process; assisting with resolving human resources metrics deficiencies; serving as a central point of cc-intact tier personnel accountability; primary point of contact for Brigade sponsorship inquiries; assisting with in- and out-processing students; and, assisting with other office automation and administrative tasks.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with the ability and experience to integrate necessary program media into a cohesive presentation or document. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats with members of higher civilian and military rank. Must have experience in administrative tasks.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Associate's degree. Bachelor’s preferred.
Minimum Experience: 2 to 4 years office experience
