HJF is seeking a Deployment Behavioral Heath Psychologist to support the Uniformed Services University’s Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) Program, located at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CDP.
The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on deployment-related psychological health issues at the CDP. The candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering training and education materials to a wide range of medical and mental health care providers and students as well as audiences of service members, military families and others. Candidate will lecture on deployment issues at the CDP as well as teaching Continuing Education courses on deployment related issues in community settings. Candidate will develop and deliver high quality didactics to the psychology interns and may provide clinical supervision to psychology interns on site. The Candidate may also expect to provide training and supervise interns on psychological testing. Candidate may also provide consultation to civilian and military medical personnel and military commanders and conduct and/or supervise Command Directed Mental Health Evaluations. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining communication between the CDP headquarters at USUHS and CDP personnel housed at medical centers throughout the United States. Must adhere to patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for Patients. Provide training in examining, diagnosing, treating, and following outpatients with psychological problems of all complexities. Provides staff expertise in psychology that is pertinent in a wide variety of circumstances, to include management of patients with psychological disorders. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to diagnose and treat psychological problems of all complexities; familiarity with military medical system desirable.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Must have graduated from an American Psychological Association accredited Ph.D./Psy.D. Program in clinical/counseling psychology, possess a current license to practice in Hawaii. Must have experience at organizing and delivering presentations.
Minimum Experience: 4 to 6 years related experience. At least 3 years’ experience post license and knowledge of the trauma research literature (PTSD, ASD, etc.) or other research areas relevant to military deployment are preferred.
Must undergo a favorable Public Trust Security Clearance Investigation.
