HJF is seeking an intern who will assist Strategic Initiatives (SI) at HJF Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland on writing and editing proposals. This role will directly report to the SVP of Strategic Initiatives.
The position will help support other members of the SI team in all writing and editing efforts they undertake in the course of proposal development and drafting.
The position is based in Bethesda, MD, but may be handled remotely and via telework.
1. Support SI proposal services
2. Support members of the SI team by reviewing, revising and editing corporate and investigator initiated proposals
3. Performs other duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Outstanding verbal and written communications skills; Demonstrated high level of flexibility to support multiple simultaneous, fast-turn projects; Skilled at gathering and distilling information from internal resources, online forms and various other channels and translating it to formal written documents; Attention to detail; creative and independent thinker focused on quality; Excellent editing skills and knowledge of grammar; and Excellent organizational skills: able to prioritize tasks and ensure everything is completed in a timely fashion.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: High school diploma; some college.
Minimum Experience: Prior writing and editing experience in the medical research field.
Physical Capabilities: Requires long hours of sitting and working at a computer.
Work Environment: Office environment. May require after hours work to complete and submit proposals and meet deadlines.
