HJF is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the NeuroTactical Research Program (NTRP) in the Department of Neurology at the Uniformed Services University. Performs a wide range of administrative and clerical duties for a department or department manager.  Work assignments are extremely complex in nature and considerable judgment and independent action are required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Answers phones and takes and delivers messages.  Provides information and answers questions to callers as needed and appropriate. 
  • Maintains and updates NTRP’s project management website. 
  • Tracks inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains NTRP’s briefing and gauge deployment schedules and makes arrangements for meetings as necessary. 
  • Initiates and determines the need for NTRP projects; organizes and completes the projects.
  • Performs typing assignments and proofreads all work.  Completes correspondence on behalf of the NTRP.  Creates, maintains and updates databases and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Arranges travel for NTRP personnel in coordination with program manager. 
  • Completes travel authorizations and expense reports.
  • Operates automated office equipment as needed.
  • Provides administrative support for credit card reconciliations and purchasing.
  • Provides and maintains department office supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.; excellent communication skills; ability to type at least 60 wpm, operate a word processor or computer, and effectively communicate with a diverse group of people.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  Associate's degree.

Minimum Experience:  4-6 plus years office experience.

Travel:  10-20% travel to USUHS and to local deployment sites.

Work Environment:  Home office environment.  This is a telework position.  Laptop with docking station, mouse, keyboard, and monitor as well as cellular telephone will be provided.
