We are currently seeking a passionate candidate with a strong background in molecular biology and interest in infectious diseases. The position will focus on understanding how human epigenetic/transcriptomics variation contributes to differences in infectious disease susceptibility and pathogenesis using next-generation sequencing (NGS), phenotyping and functional assays. The incumbent will work on validating host restriction factors in infectious diseases caused by HIV, Dengue and Zika in the context of natural infection, treatment and vaccine studies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform NGS experiments to identify differentially expressed genes comparing different conditions.
  2. Validate differences in expression of genes identified by genome-wide screens, using q-PCR, western blots, flow cytometry and other in vitro assays.
