HJF is seeking an Corporate Counsel with a minimum of three years of relevant experience for the in-house legal department at its Bethesda, Maryland headquarters.      

Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as legal advisor to HJF and provides authoritative counsel on many diverse and complex areas.
  2. Reviews many forms of agreements.
  3. Participates in investigational projects and researches legal questions.
  4. Provides input on Foundation programs and collaborations.
  5. Guides the formation and revision of administrative and operating policies and procedures.
  6. Completes other projects as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Experience in federal grants and contracts, subcontracting, commercial contracts, ethics and compliance, technology transfer and licensing, clinical trials, international law, or employment law.
  2. Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  3. Must be able to work independently and in teams.
  4. Must demonstrate ability to prioritize, be proactive, resolve conflicts, meet deadlines, follow through on assignments and be a team player.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  Law degree from an accredited law school.

Minimum Experience:  3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Required Licenses, Certification, or Registration:  Bar membership.

Work Environment:  Office environment.
