HJF is seeking a Research Assistant needed to support the Centers for Clinical Inquiry (C2I) Project at the Uniformed Services University (USU) Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing (GSN).  This incumbent will be located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH (711 HPW/USAFSAM C2I Pilot Site).

HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the C2I Project. The Research Assistant is responsible for collaborating with study team members in order to complete the specific aims of the project.



  • Facilitates communication between study team members and C2I locations.
  • Documents standard processes for all C2I sites.
  • Develops resources for strategic and tactical communication of C2I capabilities and services.
  • Creates data management system for capturing consultation requests across all C2I site locations.
  • Maintains AFMS central repository for EBP and research pertinent to nursing.
  • Conducts literature searches related to military and civilian clinical inquiry models.
  • Networks with Army and Navy EBP and research teams.
  • Schedules meetings to include face to face, telephone and/or video conference formats and performs note taking.
  • Travels occasionally between C2I site locations for project meetings.
  • Provides basic data collection and analysis under the direction of the Project Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:   Knowledge of the Air Force Medical Service and office automation proficiency to include Microsoft Office Applications; strategically and proactively manage data and update information retrieved from varied sources; ability to coordinate complex systems and programs; ability to follow detailed instructions; strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.

Minimum Experience:  Minimum 0- 2 years administrative experience with proficiency using Microsoft Office Applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint); demonstrated outstanding customer service as a valuable and contributing member of an interactive study team.  Data management skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.  Air Force and healthcare experience preferred.

Physical Capabilities:  Long periods of sitting.

Work Environment:  Office.
