HJF is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Online Programs Division at the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to CDP.

 The Project Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of Online Programs. He/She will be responsible for providing technical project oversight, project planning, and resource management for Online Program projects, including the Center’s online educational efforts.  Specific areas include:  personnel management, internal and external communication, project coordination for new product development, and reporting budget requirements to Executive leadership


  • Tracks multiple online development projects including manpower utilization, work flow, and operational procedures to increase efficiency, productivity, and make overall improvements for the program.
  • Ensures the Online Programs Director and Assistant Director have accurate data regarding the timeline of all online projects using project management tracking software.
  • Facilitates information flow regarding online services and products between program members, subject matter experts and Center leadership. 
  •  Assists with the scheduling of conference calls, video teleconferences, and meetings for project team meetings and between CDP staff and outside parties
  • Act as point of contact for outside organizations, vendors, and subcontractors for Online Program services and products.
  • Assists with the development and formulation of Fiscal Year budget requests.
  • Regularly reports to the Executive Staff and CDP staff on overall program projects and goals.
  • Coordinates training for Center staff on utilization of technologies to support program training and education.
  • Support staff and end-learners by providing assistance with technology as needed (e.g., before and during online events).
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Job Specifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Knowledge of organizational objectives, ability to work completely independently; ability to use sound judgment in solving problems; ability to coordinate many complex systems and programs at the same time; excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.  Works well in teams and independently; confidence taking the initiative and working with subject matter experts and faculty; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of military culture and the social sciences/behavioral health field a plus.  Technology knowledge and skills essential. Familiarity with online conferencing platforms, educational delivery systems and computer software applications relevant to online instruction a plus.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Military experience preferred.

Minimum Experience:  3-5 years related experience in project coordination, administration, or program management

Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls:  No official evaluative supervisory responsibilities, but includes day to day oversight of some support staff.

Work Environment:  Works in a well-lighted and temperature-controlled office.
