HJF is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Strategic Growth and Research (SG&R) Directorate at the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) in Bethesda, MD.  The Project Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of SG&R.  He/She will be responsible for providing technical project oversight and resource management.   Specific areas include:  oversite of administrative processes supporting SG&R, coordination of meeting with funders and internal personnel, tracking of SG&R processes, booking and coordination of approved conferences and exhibit booths, overseeing development and maintenance of strategic communication materials and supporting CDP Program Manager in assigned tasks. 


  1. Tracks multiple SG&R projects including manpower utilization, work flow, and operational procedures to increase efficiency, productivity, and make overall improvements for the program.
  2. Ensures the SG&R Director and Assistant Director have accurate data regarding the timeline of all project proposals and SG&R projects using project management tracking software.
  3. Facilitates information flow regarding SG&R services and products between program members, subject matter experts and Center leadership. 
  4. Assists with the scheduling of conference calls, video teleconferences, and meetings for project team meetings and between CDP staff and outside parties
  5. Act as a point of contact for outside organizations, vendors, and subcontractors for SG&R services and products.
  6. Maintain strategic communication materials, handouts, brochures for SG&R
  7. Assist in coordination of conference attendance and exhibit booths as directed by SGR Director or Assistant Director
  8. Regularly reports to the Executive Staff and CDP staff on overall program projects and goals.
  9. Support CDP Program Manager as assigned on projects within the Center. Task include purchasing, travel coordination, event planning, updating living documents, and other programmatic support activities.
  10. Performs other duties as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Knowledge of organizational objectives, ability to work completely independently; ability to use sound judgment in solving problems; ability to coordinate many complex systems and programs at the same time; excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.  Works well in teams and independently; confidence taking the initiative and working with subject matter experts and faculty; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of military culture and the social sciences/behavioral health field a plus.  Technology knowledge and skills preferred.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Military experience preferred.

Minimum Experience:  1-3 years related experience in project coordination, administration, or program management

Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls:  No official evaluative supervisory responsibilities, but includes day to day oversight of some support staff.

Work Environment:  Works in a well-lighted and temperature-controlled office.  Telework is also a potential part of this position.
