HJF is seeking a Psychometric Technician to support the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine (CNRM) activities at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, Maryland.  Responsible for administering and scoring objective psychological and neuropsychological tests and conducting computer-assisted cognitive testing.


  1. Administers and scores full neuropsychological test batteries on research participants.
  2. Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews and medical record reviews.
  3. Administers clinical assessment/standardized intake instruments, independently developing and employing alternate or modified assessment instruments/strategies as necessary.
  4. Conducts initial screening evaluation of new subjects and structured interviews.
  5. Administer telephone/web-based questionnaires and computerized neurocognitive tests.
  6. Collect and process all study related data and perform quality control procedures.
  7. Complete other study related tasks as needed (i.e. recruitment, consenting, data entry)
  8. Maintains testing supplies and equipment inventory, recording new materials as required.
  9. Performs research database management, entering data, generating patient and subsample reports upon request, and assisting in reporting of findings.
  10. Maintains and updates assessment skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Knowledge of basic counseling skills for eliciting cooperation from difficult subjects; ability to adapt to change in evaluating subjects of different disability during complex testing modalities; excellent communication skills to impact complex test results to other professionals

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field (Master’s preferred). 1-2 years prior experience administering clinical interviews and psychological tests required.

Minimum Experience:  2-4

Physical Capabilities:  Walking, including escorting subjects, standing, bending, and carrying light items.  May encounter or work with patients who are confuses, agitated, or abusive

Work Environment:  Clinical/Hospital

Background Requirement:  US Citizenship required; ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance required. Interim Secret Clearance acceptable to start.
