HJF is seeking a Lead Applications Developer/Programmer to support the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center (AFHSB) in Silver Spring, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to AFHSB.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Develop enterprise-level web-based and C/S applications using object-oriented programming languages.
  2. Ability to use a relational database to develop multi- tiered applications.
  3. Demonstrate self-discipline and communicate effectively with end-users for eliciting requirements, and utilize the full-life development.
  4. Ability to develop the user-interfaced applications.
  5. Provide back-end systems such as roles in maintaining web and application servers, including installations and configurations.
  6. Complete understanding of the Linux/Unix and Oracle database servers, including shell scripting and PL/SQL.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading and writing business and technical requirements
  • Expert knowledge in EJB3.0, C#. C++. C, VB, ASP, JSP, Servlet. Java scripts, CSS, XML and p1/Sql
  • Logical/physical database design development experience
  • High proficiency in Perl, Shell scripts, and PL/SQL.
  • Strong understanding of IIS, Apache, Jboss, Oracle Database, Linux and Windows 2000.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  Desire a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university which provides substantial knowledge of the information sciences.

Minimum Experience: Desires a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in object oriented analysis and design and applications development using Powerbuilder 12.5+, Java, Swing (GUI) and Struts.
